Amid scattered housing projects in Bang Bo, the Divine Mercy Chapel rises as a quiet heart—bringing people together beyond gates and routines. Sitting beside homes for elders and a local school, it offers both sanctuary and stage: a place for prayer, for music, for shared moments of grace.

Its circular form embraces light, wind, and gathering—open to the elements, shaped by the seasons. Built without glass or air conditioning, the Chapel is entirely open to its tropical surroundings. It breathes with its environment, inviting a return to simplicity and resilience. Here, nature is not backdrop but presence, echoing the spirit of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’s call for ecological conversion and reverence for the earth’s rhythms.

Prefabricated concrete walls shield and frame the light, while the elevated floor gently respects the landscape’s flow and the life beneath. A plaza extends the space outward—open, inviting, communal.

A simple, enduring structure for joy, reflection, and care—for each other and for the planet.
