Trapping the Flows is an installation for the entrance gate of the 2024 Jim Thompson Farm tour. Rooted in Thai local culture, the piece draws inspiration from the collapsible sai non (ไซหนอน), a traditional fish trap symbolizing good fortune, wealth, and prosperity. Commonly placed in front of the entrances of homes and shops, the sai acts as à charm, snaring luck, much like fish caught within its weave.

Echoing the currents of the Mekong River, the sculpture is a flowing canopy of netting and rigid wire frames, balancing strength with flexibility. Light and wind-responsive yet resilient, the structure casts dynamic shadows and welcomes visitors by symbolically "trapping" good fortune. Highly portable, the canopy can be dismantled and reassembled, carrying its sprit of prosperity wherever it travels. In 2025, the installation was redesigned and installed at the entrance area of Cheongju Culture Factory, transforming it into a welcoming center—a gesture to attract visitors and invite good fortune to the Cheongju Craft Biennale 2025.
